About the University
The University of Basel is located in Basel, Switzerland. It is a public university and the oldest university among the world’s oldest surviving universities, founded on 4 April 1460. The largest and among the most important libraries in the country are associated with Basel university library.
The faculties of the University are of theology, law, medicine, humanities, and social sciences, science, psychology, and business and economics. The university had 12,811 students and 378 professors. 27 percent are international students.
