About the University
Sumy State University is located in Sumy city in the North-East of Ukraine. Its history began in 1948. Today, SumDU is a leading university of a classical type with the IV accreditation level in the region. The University currently serves about 14,000 students who are pursuing bachelor and master degrees in 55 majors and 23 fields of knowledge. About 1750 foreign students represent about 50 countries worldwide.
Sumy State University enters the TOP-group (3%) of leading universities of the world and is classified as a university with high research intensity according to the international ranking of higher education institutions QS World University Rankings. According to these rankings, SumDU enters the group of leading Ukrainian universities. SumDU also ranked 101-150 among the fastest-rising young stars of the higher education world by the QS.
According to the University Impact Rankings by Times Higher Education, Sumy State University is in TOP-300 universities worldwide by the societal and economic impact. Sumy State University ranked 801+ in the recent THE University Rankings in Engineering and Technology.
According to the worldwide Internet rankings Webometrics SumDU takes 3rd place among Ukrainian universities. It also takes high positions in the European ranking U-Multirank that identifies most of indicators of academic, extracurricular, international and other activity of SumDU as being higher than the world average value.
Sumy State University is the first Ukrainian higher education institution, which passed an independent external audit of the QS Company in 2014 and was given the highest points (5 stars) in such categories as Teaching, Engagement, Access and E-learning.
The University holds the highest position among Ukrainian higher education institutions for the number of prize-winning places in All-Ukrainian competitions of students’ research works and is among leaders in All-Ukrainian Olympiads in educational disciplines, training areas and majors.
Applicant has to draw an application to the Rector of University for enrollment of studies in the University.
The candidate should fill the application form including full name, permanent address, Date of Birth, citizenship, permanent address, phone number.
After getting an invitation letter, the candidate has to apply for a student visa in the Ukrainian embassy of the respective country.
The candidate must carry original copy of documents should be translated into Ukrainian language and legalized by Notary public and by the Ukrainian Embassy in your country.
Candidate has to deposit admission fees at the time of the admission process.
